There are only three basic types of printing.  This may seem to simple, but printing is basicallly transferring ink from a surface such as a block, plate or stone.  The ink can be carried on raised portions of a surface (relief), in lowered grooves (intaglio) or on the surface itself (planographic).  In the next few blogs we get more into each type.
